Help Us Grow Raleigh Through World-Class Public Programming, Dynamic Educational Initiatives, and Stand-Out Art Practices.

Keep our Visiting Artist engagements accessible to everyone in our Community.
In 2023, Small School is bringing over 25 prominent artists from all over the world to help infuse original ideas and initiatives into our social economy. Bringing these impressive and influential artists to our community requires substantial financial resources – honoraria, transportation, housing and meals alone cannot be covered by the nominal admission fees we charge (in fact, Visiting Artist Talks are entirely free to attend). Help us keep Small School Visiting Artist programming accessible to everyone in our community by making a donation to offset the costs.
Help us bring more dynamic educational initiatives to Raleigh high school students.
Small School offers high school arts students opportunities for direct engagement with
nationally and internationally renowned visiting artists through workshops, Socratic seminars, and informal critiques. We need your help to continue and expand these initiatives to help support an active and informed young adult arts culture in Raleigh.
Connect Raleigh artists to nationally and internationally active artists, scholars and curators.
Small School offers local artists studio visits to share their work, test their ideas, and expand their networks. Critical dialogue is essential for a thriving art practice and arts culture. Your support will enable this important piece of our social fabric to grow along with other parts of our developing city.
Make Small School the plug-in that boosts existing local arts organizations.
Small School will join forces with Raleigh arts organizations on a variety of initiatives such as co-sponsoring speakers, collaborating on workshops, and partnering on public projects. By complementing – rather than competing with – our existing local assets, we strive towards a ‘whole is greater than the sum of its parts’ strategy. Your contribution will not only benefit Small School, but existing arts organizations as well!
Invest in Raleigh as a city that attracts and retains high performing creative talent and businesses.
Small School provides the local workforce with lunch-n-learn presentations and discussions with our visiting artists. These engagements will add to the list of reasons why Raleigh is a compelling place to work and live, as well as to help stimulate and sustain the spirit of cultural entrepreneurship. You can be part of making Raleigh as interesting – and interested – as possible!
Join us in developing a distinctive 1 Year Program in Art Practice in Raleigh with leading artists and scholars focused on viewpoint diversity, art thinking and public engagement.
